A Bellanca in Buffalo

BuffaloWingz is primarily a photo blog. Sure, your screwy blogmeister is known to ramble on from time to time, but the main motivation behind this 'cyber-rag' is the pikshurs... photos, images, snaps, pix... and quite often you'll see an image posted with only the briefest of accompanying blurbs. Basically, what you've just read here is my disclaimer for all the future instances in which I feel like sharing an image but am too freakin' lazy to do a bit of research and/or write anything...

So here's my first lazy post... this crapola image was apparently scanned from an old handbook entitled: Official Review 1932-1937: Judges and Police Executives Conference Text Book  (from page 127, to be exact)

The bird is a Bellanca, although I don't know the variant without looking it up... and I'm feeling a bit lazy at the moment. However, I do see what appears to be 'MANTZ LINES' just under the cockpit. 'Tis hard to tell, though, because the image ain't so hot. If so, perhaps this is connected to Paul Mantz? Did he have his own civil aviation operation in the 1930s? I dunno... I'm not good with civvies and, again, I'm not itchin' to surf the web at the moment to find out. The N-number and other markings are also hard to read, but perhaps I can mess with the image a bit and coax some clarity from it... we'll see. Until then, enjoy this fuzzy look at a Bellanca at Buffalo Airport, circa the 1930s...

Fade to Black...
